Ranajit Sengupta is a young sarodiya who already occupies a very respectable place in the hearts of the followers of Indian music and string instruments throughout the world. Ranajit initially started playing the mandolin, even releasing an album of light instrumental music, but then transitioned to the sarod. Under the guidance of this teachers Late Ustad Dhyanesh Khan and Ustad Ashish Khan of Maihar Gharana, he has established himself as one of the leading musicians of his generation. He is an M. A. in Music from Rabindra Bharati University of Kolkata and is an "A" Grade artiste of All India Radio. He has a busy tour schedule and is regular performer at festivals in India and the rest of the world.
