Shubhra Guha started her early training under Shri Satish Bhowmik. In 1970 she started learning the Agra style of khayal singing from the veteran vocalist Sunil Bose at Sangit Research Academy. She is also a disciple of sitar maestro Vilayat Khan. Among the musicians of her generation, Subhra has one of the largest catalogues of ragas and compositions. She has a number of released albums to her credit and has performed in nearly all the important festivals in India
