Rajan & Sajan Mishra are among the most popular Hindustani classical vocalists performing today. They belong to the 400 year old Benaras gharana . They received their education from their grandfather, Pt. Bade Ram Das Ji Mishra, from their father, Pt. Hanuman Mishra, as well as from their uncle, a sarangi virtuoso Pt. Gopal Mishra. Over a musical career spanning several decades they have performed all over the world, released dozens of albums and been decorated with several awards. Last year they were awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan.
